Achim Rietze is Strategy Lead at the ZOO – Google’s creative think tank for brands and agencies: A team of highly experienced strategists, creatives and technologists, whose passion is to help define the future of marketing in a digital world.

Today the world is moving faster and faster. 

Based on a unique and agile sprint methodology the ZOO collaborates with brands and their creative partners to use Google’s technology and platforms in new and unexpected ways. From immersive experiences like Live VR for Red Bull Air Race and fashion tech experiments like Project Muze for Zalando to exclusive YouTube pre-rolls for Yoox.

Achim started his career In 2001 at the global agency network Young & Rubicam, before joining Jung von Matt in 2006 – according to the Big One the “most-awarded creative agency across all media and the world“ in 2007. Later he founded his own strategy unit as board member at LLR – a Jung von Matt spin-off, that directly won 9 Lions at Cannes in their first year and became “Newcomer Agency of the Year 2009” in Germany.

In 2015 he arrived at Google. 

The 43-year old creative strategist is engaged at the Account Planning Group Germany for 10+ years and represented the interests of the planning community as board member in 2013. He also is a member of the global industry association for Virtual Reality & Augmented Reality.

Achim has a track record of 27 effectiveness award wins and is a regular jury member at the Effie Europe, GWA Effie and AME at New York Festivals.
