David Hackworthy

Chief Strategy Officer of Saatchi & Saatchi and Chief Strategy Officer of Publicis Groupe United Kingdom

David is Global Chief Strategy Officer of Saatchi & Saatchi and Chief Strategy Officer of Publicis Groupe UK. He is responsible for strategic direction across the Saatchi & Saatchi network as well as working with Publicis Groupe UK clients to help unlock new areas of growth for their brands. 

Hackworthy took the global CSO position at Saatchi & Saatchi in 2015, after joining sister agency Fallon London as Chief Strategy Officer in 2013. 

Prior to joining Fallon London, Hackworthy co-founded creative agency The Red Brick Road, launched in 2006. He moved from the US to London to join DDB London as chief strategy officer in 2004

Before relocating to London, he worked in the US as CSO at TBWA Chiat/Day New York, and prior to that as head of planning at DMB&B in New York. 

Hackworthy started out in brand management before going agency-side in his native Australia. Over his career, he has built extensive experience with international agencies and global brands and has spent equal periods of his working life in Australia, USA and the UK, working on multiple global businesses including VW, Coca-Cola, Procter & Gamble, Cadbury, Unilever, Mars, Nivea, Philips, Absolut and Heineken. 

He has a dual degree in Law and Commerce from the University of New South Wales in Sydney.
