George Rivers

Head of Campaigns- Tesco

George Rivers is a senior marketer with over ten years experience working across strategy, brand, loyalty and communications. As Head of Campaigns at Tesco, he and his team are responsible for all food and local advertising.  

George has a proven track record of delivering business results, first-class marketing and team leadership. Career highlights include refreshing the CRM strategy for Clubcard, Britain’s largest loyalty scheme, increasing sign-ups and engagement; relaunching the Tesco Wine range, driving over £60m incremental sales in the first year; being responsible for Food Love Stories, Tesco’s award-winning and highly-effective brand campaign.

George is motivated by problem solving, strategy and achieving business results, but his passion lies the creative side of marketing. He’s been a judge for Effie UK for the last three years and is thrilled to be joining the Effie Europe panel to read about exciting work from Europe and other sectors.

George lives in the UK with his partner, Amie, and their two children.
