Lieselot Vandamme is a senior lecturer in Communication and International Coordinator at Howest University of Applied Sciences in Belgium. She teaches undergraduate students the art of storytelling, media relations and core communication skills, integrating real-world briefs and intercultural collaboration into her courses. Her work is driven by a strong belief in international cooperation and sustainability as a catalyst for meaningful societal impact.
Alongside her teaching, Lieselot trains professionals in video storytelling and has conducted research on news consumption among Gen Z, with a particular focus on how younger audiences engage with and trust media. This dual focus on practice and research allows her to bridge academic insight with industry relevance.
Before entering academia, she built a long and diverse career in the media industry in Belgium, working across media production companies, in-house creative teams and communication roles. This broad experience shaped her strategic perspective and sharpened her storytelling craft. Today, she brings that expertise into both the classroom and international projects, where she is known for combining clear vision with hands-on execution in communication initiatives.
