Katarina Psenakova

Head of Communications & Campaign, Tesco

Katarína Pšenáková is a communications and creative projects specialist based in Slovakia, working at the intersection of culture, brand and social impact. She develops narratives and campaigns across PR, social, and integrated communications, bringing ideas from insight to execution.
Her work includes Tesco’s 17 November campaigns that connect everyday shopping with the values of democracy. She helped deliver the earlier “Freedom isn’t a given” activation, where mandarins (once a scarce seasonal product before 1989) became a simple symbol reminding customers that freedom—and choice—cannot be taken for granted. More recently, she worked on the “Freedom of Choice” (Sloboda výberu) campaign, reflecting on the legacy of 1989 through everyday choices—health, individuality and dignity.
In partnership with Istropolitana Ogilvy Slovakia, she also led communications addressing period poverty via a powerful “Period dress” symbol, supporting initiatives focused on improving access to menstrual hygiene products, reducing stigma, and mobilising partners. Her approach centres on respectful, research-led storytelling that makes sensitive topics accessible without losing nuance, while pairing awareness with practical action.
Known for strategic thinking, values-led decision-making, and calm delivery, she connects stakeholders, simplifies complexity, and keeps projects moving. Her interests include purpose-driven communication, creative effectiveness, and campaigns that translate insight into measurable impact.
